Three 9 inch in diameter large french mixing bowls glazed on the inside in beige. The bottom outside was left unglazed and is in an earthy beige color so much like the earth in which it came. These part glazed pottery bowls were made in the mid 1900s. The bowls were traditionally used in the South West of France to prepare the confit of duck before storing for preserving in glazed confit pots and also another use would have been for preparing fruit to make jam ,then covered and stored in the cellar. There is a marking on one that reads DIGOIN One of the bowls has two chips. The other two are in perfect condition and rare to come by. No issues in the glaze either. Great for a rustic look in a farmhouse.
