Orrefors Crystal Champagne and Cordial Flutes - "Clown" Series by Anne Nilsson. This delightful collection uses the four primary colors in a playful theme of stripes, stars, and circles, with no two alike. This set contains four champagne flutes and two cordial glasses. Designed by award-winning artist Anne Nilsson, every glass has her signature. This collection was obtained in 1997. The Orrefors labels are on the base of three glasses.
These glasses are in excellent condition and were rarely used. Every rim is fully intact with no chipping whatsoever. There are no scratches or signs of wear.
The champagne flutes are 10 1/2” (26.7cm) high, 2 3/4” (7cm) diameter at the rim. The cordials are 7 1/2" (19cm) tall and 2/1/4" (5cm) diameter at the rim.
Anne Nilsson (born 1953) was trained in glass and ceramics at University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden. Since 1982 she has designed several popular glass series for Orrefors; receiving the Excellent Swedish Design award for 15 different product series. The Clown series was produced from 1993-2006. It is no longer made, making these glasses more valuable as time goes by.
