Antonin Suman joined Thonet in 1949 and later moved to the Thonet offshoot Ton when the firms split during the post-war political upheaval in the region. This chair was produced by the famous Czech firm Ton, still trading today and producing beautiful chairs. Suman was a prolific and revered designer and this chair us exceptionally rare with the wood not upholstered seat. We have gently restored the frame but kept the original character and patina which is what these chairs are all about. Seat height 46cm. Date:1950's Maker:Ton – Czech Dimensions:44cm(w) x 49cm(l) x 84cm(h) This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
