The design brief was to define a contemporary table that would work well with a variety of vintage (or contemporary) chairs. The table base is designed with four softly tapered legs that splay out gently giving a sense of strength and stability whilst still giving ample practical leg room. The base is made of solid sustainable European oak with strong tenon joins and a rigid sub frame which gives the table stability. The table name ?slice? reflects the tapered table top edge which has been angled inwards giving a delicate visual detail and lightness. The tables come with either a robust white laminate top or a solid marble top The marble top is made from Italian marble and comes with a matt sanded finish. The laminate tops are made using a heavy weight solid laminate bonded to a stable birch ply core. Slice comes in two standard sizes: Table top size 65 by 65cm square and also rectangular tops 65 by 120cm. Table height is 75cm. These tables have now been used in several commercial settings and have proved hard wearing and practical.
