Plymold is a technique of … Read more Plymold sideboard or liquor cabinet, made in late 1940s or early 1950s - mid-century modern. Plymold is a technique of steaming plywood to make it flexible, and was used to make molds for airplane parts during World War II. Soon after, American and European furniture designers used the technique to make unique curving furniture.

This is an exceptionally beautiful example, but I am unable to locate the mark of the designer, although it clearly resembles the work of the Thaden-Jordan Furniture Company. This is a statement piece that could give mid-century elegance to a whole room.

Dimensions: 36" wide, 18" deep, 32 1/2" tall

Color is a natural maple or oak color, on the golden side. It is in very good condition, especially considering it is about 75 years old. See less
