The painting depicts … Read more This is a textured oil painting after Artura Silla, a 20th-century artist, signed "Lauri" (a presumed pseudonym). The painting depicts two figures in a city scene (perhaps sitting around pots of
soup for warmth or comfort, or perhaps these are lidded trash cans indicating poverty) with buildings in the background. One figure is standing, and the other is seated on what appears to be a barrel or container. The style is somewhat abstract and expressive, with a muted color palette. This is such a superb piece! It will be difficult to part with such a lovely part of our collection. However, I want to share with artwork with others.

This is a lovely oil painting, with thick paint details. The brushstrokes are fantastic. The piece feels very real, as if one could easily he looking out of a window of time and place into the scenery. It looks like a rainy day and the figures seem familiar, sad, routined. It is absolutely beautiful piece that is sure to grow on the viewer with each casual glance that becomes magnetic. Suddenly, one realizes he or she is looking at something so incredible. And he or she has become drawn into the scenery with flooded emotion. See less
