For sale is a pair of antique French square cast iron planters having a rare cast pattern. Each planter is an assemblage of four equal cast iron sides forming a square. The outside corners of the planter form a folded acathus leaf. The middle of each planter face has a 4 petal flower protruding from it. The top edges are ribbed and are the squared version of the classical greek arrow and egg. The top outside dimensions of the planters are 11.5 inches square. Each planter is 12.5 inches tall. The center of each planter has a large square hole for drainage with each side of the square being 3.75 inches.
These planters are solid and substantial, each weighing 35 pounds on my home scale.
