Made in response to the Colonial Revival, an aesthetic movement that began around the time of the American Centennial (1876) and continued well into the 20th Century; in it colonial designs were appreciated and emulated.
American, unattributed maker, mid/late 20th Century With a broken swan's neck pediment with scrolled terminals over arched cupboard doors with shaped mullions, over a hinged writing lid opening to a divided amphitheater interior, over three long drawers, all on a shaped ogee bracket base.
This belonged to my grandmother who had in in her home in Astoria, Queens, New York.
