A striking West German studio pottery pitcher dating to the mid-20th century, featuring a vivid red high-gloss glaze contrasted by a heavily textured black lava base. The organically shaped body is complemented by a sculptural loop handle and softly formed pouring spout, making it equally suited as a functional serving piece or decorative accent.
Executed in the iconic Fat Lava aesthetic popular in West Germany during the 1960s and 1970s, this pitcher displays dramatic glaze variation and tactile volcanic texture characteristic of the period.
Presented in very good vintage condition with expected light wear consistent with age and use. A distinctive addition to any collection of West German ceramics, Mid-Century Modern décor, or studio pottery.
