Their … Read more This pair of Inuit soapstone carvings were purchased at auction from DuMouchelles Fine Art and Appraisals in Detroit, Michigan. Their faces exhibit so much character! They are great as decorative objects on a bookshelf or end table.

These are genuine Inuit carvings based on the fact that they are made of soapstone as opposed to copies which are frequently made of resin as well as the quality of the carvings. Also, both sculptures have a “Canada”:sticker with an Igloo, which is an indicator of a genuine Inuit object. I have also included a copy of the receipt from the auction house indicating that they appraised these as Inuit sculptures when I bid on and subsequently bought them. See less
