A pair of decorative enameled ceramic plaques, created by the historic Bottega Gatti in Faenza, known for its excellence in artistic ceramics. The works depict evocative naturalistic scenes in relief.
The first plaque depicts a small bird perched on a branch, surrounded by delicate leaves and tufts of grass blowing in the wind. The second depicts a wader, likely a heron or curlew, in a lakeside landscape, with marshy vegetation and a flowering branch framing the composition.
The modeled surfaces are embellished with iridescent, shimmering glazes, lending depth and a refined golden sheen to the composition. The artist's signatures are visible at the bottom right on both works, dated 2023.
These plaques evoke a sense of tranquility and harmony with nature, with a style reminiscent of the Art Nouveau taste for flowing lines and an aesthetic inspired by the plant and animal world.
