the fireside chair (model a 752) designed by josef frank became part of the interior design of walter loos's house no. 20 in the werkbundsiedlung (woinovichgasse 24-26) as well as house no. 67 by architect gabriel guévrékian (paris), furnished by rudolf baumfeld. Guévrékian was a student of josef hoffmann and oskar strnad. "walter loos trained at the vienna school of applied arts under josef frank and josef hoffmann and worked in paris with adolf loos in the mid-1920s. While walter loos himself designed the interior of house no. 20 of the vienna werkbund estate, the architect peter feile was responsible for the interior design of house no. 19. Loos and feile had already worked together in würzburg and were also close friends. A historical photograph from 1932 shows the living room of house no. 20 with a multifunctional wall unit. Lightened by the movable furniture from thonet, the room conveys a certain lightness despite the almost floor-to-ceiling wall construction. Although no other photos of the terraced house's interior are known, the floor plans of the houses reveal that loos intended the use of built-in furniture on the first floor as well as the kitchen." - mag.
