Created by the esteemed silversmith P. Spoelstra of Groningen, the piece showcases a harmonious blend of refined neoclassical aesthetics and superior Dutch silver quality.

The jardiniere is formed in .835-grade silver, confirmed by the Dutch hallmark — the lion passant facing right with the numeral "2" beneath, indicating 83.5% silver purity. Additional hallmarks include the letter “H” (a Dutch silver control mark) and a hammer with “PS” — the maker's mark of P. Spoelstra, one of the most respected names in 19th-century Groningen silverwork.

Its body is richly adorned with garlands and neoclassical ornamentation, typical of the Louis XVI style, and it rests on four robust, elegantly formed legs. The piece comes with its original deep cobalt blue glass liner, flawlessly fitted and impressively preserved.
