Elegant pair of Empire style appliques from the Napoleon III period, made of hand-chiseled gilded bronze with leaf motifs, ribbons and interwoven cords. Each applique has two volute arms with candle holder cups, decorative hanging chains and shaped lampshades with gilded trimmings. The careful manufacturing and the use of gilded bronze are typical of French production in the second half of the 19th century, Napoleon III period.
