Published in France at the end of the 19th Century by Ferdinand Barbedienne.

Ferdinand Barbedienne was a renowned French founder, whose lifespan and career encompassed much of the 19th century. He is credited (in connection with Achille Collas) with democratizing the collecting of sculpture throughout Europe.

Barbedienne’s casts were always of extremely high quality, and these sculptures continue to be highly coveted today. The reduction of Venus de Milo after Alexandros of Antioch is purportedly amongst the earliest collaborative efforts of Collas and Barbedienne.
