Depicting the arms of The House Of Savoy, this gilded cast iron plaque dates to circa 1900. The royal house was a former dynasty that was established in 1003, eventually controlling areas across southeastern France, northwestern Italy, and later Sicily. The house would later exercise control over Sardinia as well, becoming the legal predecessor state to the current-day Italian Republic.
