Jules Leleu Art Deco extendable dining table
or conference table, with
a rectangular cherry wood tabletop,
supported by an unusual
frame featuring two semicircular, slanted
hollow columns, each resting on three legs.
The table is typical of Jules Leleu,
but unfortunately, as is so often the case, Leleu
did not affix a stamp or plaque.
Designers were simply well-known
in the markets.
Leleu created this design in several
types of wood, such as cherry,
mahogany, walnut, etc.
On other well-known designer
platforms, this table
costs around €3,000!
The hollow columns could actually
serve as “secret compartments.” The legs
are set in brass “shoes.”
There are two black
decorative bands around each column. This motif is also
repeated in the tabletop.
The table can normally also be
extended at the ends,
as was often the case with tables
by Jules Leleu.
Unfortunately, these extension leaves are no
longer available, so the table is being offered
as pictured.
It is up to the buyer to decide whether they
would like to have additional leaves
custom-made. The extension rails are still
in place under the tabletop.
The table already seats about 12 guests;
with the extension leaves, it seats a good 16.
Dimensions as shown:
L 175 x W 94 x H 75 cm
Knee height 69 cm
The tabletop can be unscrewed from the frame
with just 4 screws, which
simplifies transport.
Condition:
The table is used and has a few
minimal signs of wear, but is generally
still in nearly very good original condition.
