This elegant set of six Mid-Century chairs comes from Czechoslovakia from the 1950s. The chairs are made of beech wood – a combination of plywood and solid wood – and have been preserved in very good original condition. They feature a stable construction, and the designer of these timeless chairs is architect Oswald Haerdtl. This set is ideal for those who appreciate iconic mid-20th-century design and quality craftsmanship. They will be a stylish and comfortable addition to your dining room or living room. In pristine original condition, the item has been professionally cleaned, and its polish has been revived by our refurbishing team in Czechia. It has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. Designed by renowned Austrian designer and architect, Oswald Haerdtl. Haerdtl was an Austrian architect, designer and teacher. In 1916 he entered the School of Applied Arts in Vienna. In March 1917, he interrupted his studies due to the war. After the end of the First World War, he continued his studies at the School of Applied Arts and successfully completed his studies in 1921. In 1937 he won the Austrian State Prize for Architecture. His work was part of the architecture event in the art competition at the 1936 Summer Olympics. This item features Classic Mid-Century Modern (MCM) design elements. Elements of MCM interior design include clean lines, muted tones, a combination of natural and manmade materials, graphic shapes and vibrant colors. Perfect for livelier, more colourful spaces.
