A rich purple underscores an almost open field design, with mirrored floral patterns in colorful tones relegated to the upper right and lower left corners. Keen eyes will further admire the celebrated floral motifs like those in Chinoiserie rugs as well as similar oriental provenances often considered to be of the Chinese Deco aesthetic. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this antique rug’s placement of florals—peonies and cherry blossoms in primarily green, coral and gold tones—which cascade from opposite corners.
