This is a portrait of a man who is almost always in a cheerful mood, who is trying in the moment to suppress a smile. It is an oil painting on canvas.
Whenever I paint someone, I seek to capture an element of their personality. In this case, the barely suppressed amusement in his expression perfectly expresses his good heart and playful nature, which were the focus of the painting.
The painting measures 8.65x10in / 21.5x25.4cm, and the canvas has a depth of .75in / 1.9cm. It is varnished to protect it, and sold unframed. It is signed on the back. Signed by Maker
