These lamps were originally installed in the iconic May Company department store on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. The building itself is a celebrated example of Streamline Moderne architecture, designed by the prominent firm A.C. Martin, which served as the principal architects. The interiors were strongly influenced by Samuel Marx, whose modernist vision helped define the store’s elegant, forward-thinking aesthetic.
