Finely crafted vintage kilim, Anatolia, 1960s
Soft. Symbolic. Rare.
This exceptional kilim from Anatolia dates back to the 1960s and is a rare find: Its unusually delicate color scheme in pastel shades—with warm green, soft pink, ochre, cream, and dark blue—gives it an almost ethereal aura. Unlike many Anatolian kilims, which often glow in bold colors, this rug appears calm, soft, and understated.
The craftsmanship is remarkably fine—with crisp edges, dense weaving, and detailed ornamentation. At the center of the pattern: the Elibelinde symbol, the symbol of the feminine, creative, balance, and fertility. Discreetly yet clearly drawn—like a whispering sign in the weave.
This kilim is ideal as a wall hanging or in rooms with little foot traffic—such as the bedroom or as a meditation piece. It acts like a silent companion that does not dominate rooms, but rather calms them.
