It was made in germany for the uk market in the early- to mid-1960s by eduard kaib kunstwerkstätten, which had a line in oversized display bottles for various wine and spirit companies during this period. It originally would have been displayed in a pub or off licence, in the days when blue nun was a popular and relatively expensive choice of wine.

the lamp has been dismantled, cleaned, rewired and brought up to modern safety standards with a brand new british-made patinated solid brass safety switched lampholder and a generous length of 3-core twisted cable with a vintage aesthetic brown silk braid.

the lamp accepts a single b22 bayonet bulb. It comes fitted with a uk 3-pin plug. International buyers should be able to readily and inexpensively source plug adaptors for their domestic outlets. This piece has an attribution mark,
