This high quality antique Art Nouveau butter-dish was manufactured around 1910 by Moritz Hacker in Vienna, Austria.
The silver-plated stand and lid features a beautifully detailed decor and comes with an intact satin-finished glass insert. The lid can also be turned over to place it in the glass insert.
Its silver-plating shows a beautiful slight patina and is hallmarked with a silver stamp 'MH 20' also comes with a 'double-headed eagle' hallmark.
This double-headed eagle stamp refers to the status of a 'purveyor to the court' of the former K&K monarchy Austria-Hungary (1867-1918) that the manufactory Moritz Hacker held.
