Each is one-of-a-kind, hand-painted with natural henna dye using a technique unique to a collective of women artists in a remote region of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
First, the women wash sheep's wool by hand, then it is hand-spun into yarn and finely knotted by hand on a vertical loom. Once the textile is finished the women make dye using henna and other plants, nuts and dried fruit like pomegranate and paint on the pigment with their hands.
