Fabulous, early midcentury oil painting of a portrait of a young boy in school. Features, vibrant midcentury colors that have been perfectly muted by age and patina. Almost has a folk art feel to it. Painting is dated 1950 and is signed Velpha on the front and Velpha Deacon on the back. Information on the back reveals that she was from Pasadena and the painting was done in a Mr. or Mrs. Hausman’s class. At one point, it was exhibited and the Pasadena Art Institute.

Condition can be viewed in photos, a few light scratches and signs of wear. Blends well and presents beautifully. Would be sweet hung in a dark wooden frame or even unframed. Is a nice medium size.
