Gustave Serrurier-Bovy was a Belgian architect and decorator who was one of the leading representatives of Art Nouveau in Belgium, along with Paul Hankar, Victor Horta, and Henry van de Velde.
Born in Liège in 1858, Serrurier-Bovy was the son of a cabinetmaker and became known for his innovative work in furniture and interior design.
He organized a major Art Nouveau exhibition in Liège in 1895, helping to establish Belgium as a center of the new artistic movement. Serrurier-Bovy is considered a precursor of modernism and one of the most significant and representative Belgian figures of the Art Nouveau style. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
