Absolutely gorgeous piece expertly crafted by renowned British furniture makers Titchmarsh & Goodwin. Titchmarsh & Goodwin marketed this piece as a "Desk Companion" in the early 1900's, which explains the bottom two drawers on each side (appearing to be two drawers) are in fact one large drawer large enough for filing. While this could still be used as a "Desk Companion" in an office ,the design makes it a very versatile piece to be used as a sideboard, buffet, or credenza.
Embodying the finest traditions of woodworking, from the hand cut dovetail joints, to the intricate banded inlays on the faces of each drawer, along with the top ,this is a showstopper of a piece that commands attention with its exceptional craftsmanship and timeless beauty. Retains all original brass hardware and locking mechanisms , which are marked "T&G, Ipswich". Included are the pair of original keys. The back top left corner is marked "Made in England"
