Early 2000s Ned Foltz Redware Thanksgiving Tabletop Set- Rare Turkey and Four Medium Lidded Pumpkin Bowls. All signed by Ned Foltz
Rare collectible Ned Foltz Redware to dazzle someone's 2025 Thanksgiving table- from the
cradle of origin. Denver, PA ( my location ) is only 2 miles away from Reinholds, PA where Ned Foltz and a few in his circle create his redware collectible masterpieces from. I bought all the Ned Foltz Redware items that I am listing or going to list from a local resident- so technically these are 'one owner' if you are counting me only as an intermediary step or temporary owner as I do. Crafted in the old Pennsylvania German tradition of redware making
This was not originally a set per se, but all pieces here have a fall/ harvest/ Thanksgiving theme to them, so are easily assembled as a set. Listing as a set will save the buyer money.
These pieces are medium sized in my opinion.
The Turkey is 5.5" long by 7" tall by 4" wide.
The 4 Pumpkin Bowls with lids are approximately 5.25" in diameter by 4" tall without lid or 6.25" tall with the lid on.
The turkey was made in 2002
2 of the pumpkin bowls were made in 2000
2 of the pumpkin bowls were made in 2001
The bowls were originally $150 per piece in the early 2000's. It's hard to find comps for them at this time, as these are rare pieces. One sticker remains under one lid. The turkey was around $275 at the time and can sell for $400- to $500 at this time, so this bundle deal is a savings.
Condition: overall the strength and integrity of both the redware and the glaze is very good to excellent condition. Except underneath the lid of one bowl, there is one small surface chip.
3 of the pumpkin bowls have stems crafted into them- one does not- but it is fully glazed from the original firing- you can tell. So I assume that there were 2 designs to the lids- one with stems and one without.
