Vintage Chi Kiang Stoneware Soup Bowls Or Crocks With Underplates
4 Piece Set
These vintage bowls were most likely produced in the Jiangxi Province in southeast China during the 1960s. The province has a long history of ceramic artisans who have produced quality products for generations. These hand painted bowls feature a floral motif done in blue and brown tones. The handles and underplates are accented in the same blue tones. The bowls and plates are heavy for their sizes.
Measurements: Bowls ~ 2 1/4" H x 4 3/4" top diameter.
Plates: ~ 6 1/4" diameter
The set is in excellent vintage condition. It is without chips, scratches, or cracks. The colors are intact and bright. The glaze is glossy. Some of the hand-painted blue accents on the rim of the underplates were applied unevenly, typical in some hand-painted pieces. Please view the photographs.
