About Thomas Lamb (1896-1988): After opening his own textile firm, Lamb quickly became a success, selling his fabrics at Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, and Macy's. In 1924, he began illustrating children's books and signed a contract with Good Housekeeping to illustrate a series of cartoons.
