Slowly the practice spread from Israel to Egypt and into Europe; by the 19th century it was a popular artform, particularly in relation to biblical subjects.The writing within this example is only legible under magnification. The full Lord's Prayer—seventeen lines of script—fits within a circle of just 11mm (less than 1/2 inch) diameter.On yellow paper laid down on backing paper.Yellow paper size: 4.5 x 4.5cm.Backing sheet size: 13.3 x 9.8cm.All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and—if it is a collection artwork—its accompanying collection text or artist biography.
