The rug is lacking its original label and is descibed as design No. 80577
It was sold at Bijenkorf in the 1990s, a high end department store in the Netherlands.

Ege Axminster A/S, based in Denmark, was known for high-quality wool rugs. In the 1980s–1990s, they produced a “20th Century Masters” line licensing works from Picasso, Dali, van Gogh, and others.
