The monument features an … Read more This is a 19th Century French, granite monument, marker, located in a public space in France. The monument features an inscription "S. Joseph Das Ang Eleves Mai 1892" which suggests it is dedicated to Saint Joseph and possibly commemorates students ("eleves") from 1892. This monument is made of light-colored granite and shows signs of aging and weathering, logically, being an outdoor piece for almost 200 years. This marker is also significantly decorated with ornate Fauns, from the Roman deity Faunus, god of forests and fields, two large sculptured Roman mythology figures, part human and part goat, similar to a Greek Satyr.
