19th Century Gilded Wood Mirror by Maison Goupil & Cie
Gilded with gold leaf.
Maison Goupil & Cie was an art publishing and trading company founded in 1827 by Henry Rittner and renamed Goupil & Cie in 1829. Based in Paris, it played a major role in the 19th-century art market. The company was known for its reproductions, prints, and engravings, as well as for the sale of original paintings and framing. It worked with many famous artists of the time and contributed to the dissemination of art throughout Europe and America. The company also published art catalogs and organized exhibitions.
Note an unfortunate restoration on the lower edge of the frame. Height 62 cm
