* by the artist Wilhelm Frey (1826 – 1911, Mannheim)
* Wilhelm Frey studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and painted in Holland, the Swiss mountains, the Baltic coast, and the Inn Valley. He was appointed professor in Mannheim and created numerous works in the Lake Constance area, preferring animal and landscape motifs.

* The motif depicts the fishing place on Lake Constance. In the foreground, a sandy area in front of the lawn can be seen; in the right-hand frame, Lake Constance begins, with an old tree taking root on its shore. In the background and on the water, shadowy figures can be seen.
