Paul Kingma created this coffee table in his studio in Putten. Only a few pieces in this style and technique exist. This rare, handcrafted table reflects his distinctive style: rectangular, linear and three-dimensional. These principles were central to his work and give the design its architectural and timeless appearance. The inlaid brass, metal and resin seem to orbit like stars and planets – a technique developed by Kingma to give his work cosmic depth. The dark ebony provides the perfect base: visually heavy, densely grained and deep brown in colour, giving the top both calm and intensity. The top is 5.5 cm thick and rests on a sturdy, square metal base. Dimensions: 100 x 99 x 36.5 (H) cm. Signed: Kingma. The condition of this coffee table is very good. The top has been carefully restored and is now in very good condition again. The original details have been preserved and the patina on the base enhances the character of the piece.
