This painting … Read more Abstract figurative mixed media painting on plywood by self-taught artist Christopher (Cyrstofer) Shoemaker. Shoemaker’s work is highly collected. This painting is signed C.S. on the front at the bottom right. It needs to be framed and it would look outstanding if placed in a shadow box frame, with a 1/2” float. (See example of what it would like like in the photos section).

This mixed media painting in a heavy drip style manner is on found plywood. There is a part of the plywood that is broken off, (see photo), however it adds to the character of this artwork, and doesn’t take away from the overall look.

Shoemaker is considered a outsider artist. (See a photo of him in the additional photos). Shoemaker has had no formal education in art and typically paints on found materials. This painting is a perfect example of his work. See less
