Original design for this very elaborate carafe with its rotating base from the Sully collection.
The design induces a very graphic twisting effect.
This pattern present in the base of the carafe is also found in the cap.

The attractive 4 glasses are from the Monge collection and are delightfully embellished with a tactile and geometric design.

All signed, in acid-etch on the base.

It was on the initiative of Madame de Pompadour that the cristallerie de Sèvres appeared in 1750, originally intended mainly for the court of King Louis XV.
