Create a unique custom design in your home with the conversion of an antique Japanese warehouse door as either a dining room table, a coffee table or a doorway to a room. Many examples of this unique usage are presented in the last three photos in this listing.
This Japanese warehouse door was purchased in Japan in the late 1990s from a dealer that specialists in antique warehouse doors. This warehouse door was created and used initial in the 1920s but could have been early. The door iron hinge and lock appear to be of prior creation of the Meiji period, predating the potential 1920s date. The warehouse door has all original wood and metalwork.
It was one of two warehouse doors purchased two in the 1980s. One has been used as our dining room table after having a metal base created and a glass top installed. It is a very unique piece, see one of last three photos and is still used today.. Two additional decorative creations are provided, one of another dining room table and one of a coffee table. Each is unique and provides increadable design elements to a house. The warehouse door could also be used a door between two rooms, as done with barn doors, in a house. Again a very unique feature and one to be admired.
