Vintage Woven Bamboo Tiffin Basket with Handle – 3-Tier Wedding Basket
Striking vintage handwoven bamboo tiffin basket featuring three stacking tiers, a domed lid, and a sculptural bentwood handle. - Basket’s weaving is intact, there are some split reeds you can see in the lid of the top basket near … moreBasket’s weaving is intact, there are some split reeds you can see in the lid of the top basket near wear the strapping is wrapped. I don’t find any obvious disruptions to the wood other than normal wear and tear. There are small splinters that look like hair, normal for bamboo. Lacquer application is noticeable particularly on the bottom side. You can see the color variation in the pictures along the larger pieces of supportive bamboo strapping and structure. This just creates the nice patina you would expect from a piece of this age and construction. You can contrast that with the interiors which are untreated to see the color variation the protective lacquer adds. less
