Inspired by a childhood memory of Peter Pan, Kathleen Kane-Murrell’s collection, Chasing Shadows, explores the ephemeral nature of light and form. She notes, "My work is abstractly narrative. I do not seek to illustrate but to illuminate. There is a necessary tension in my work between spontaneous and controlled. Influences include art history, travel, music, books, and poetry. Patinas of layered mark-making reflect my perception of light, color, and sound.
