design by marianne brandt and hin bredendieck, circa 1942–1945

a rare and iconic bedside lamp, the kandem no. 1227 st is the direct successor to model no. 702. Model 1227 st is less common than earlier 702 versions. Due to wartime material shortages, it features an ivory-painted artificial stone base and was also available in a version with a champagne-coloured opal glass reflector (model no. 1227 gl.).
