A beautiful vintage Chelsea House ram head armorial urn styled after the French potterer Edmé Samson. Crafted in a trophy urn shape and hand-decorated with allover bianco-sopra-bianco moriage scrolls, a pierced border, a coat of arms crest on one side and one floral bouquet on the other. Two large ram heads with gold horns on each side. Excellent condition.
This type of urn was originally made as a potpourri vase to hold mixtures of flowers, herbs, and spices emitting ambient fragrance.
