This vibrantly colored kilim is more than a rug – it's a silent manifesto. It was created as part of a social project in Turkey that gives old, unusable rugs a second life. New yarn is spun from fragments that can no longer be restored – thread by thread, color by color. This is how transience is transformed into new substance.

But behind this handwoven work of art lies a harsh reality: Rug weaving is a centuries-old art – often worn by women in rural areas, but rarely appreciated. It takes months, sometimes a whole year, to work on such a piece. The reward: little more than a symbolic sum. This project seeks to change that – the proceeds go directly back to the weavers.
