This exceptional sofa, manufactured by the renowned Italian company Busnelli, is a remarkable find due to its rarity. The T.E.E. was thoughtfully designed by Studio Gruppo 14 in the 1970s, a period known for its vibrant exploration of form and function in furniture design. This piece was believed to be produced in minimal quantities, underscoring its exclusivity and desirability. Studio Gruppo 14, or Gruppo G14, was an influential Italian design collective established in 1967. Its founding members—Gianfranco Facchetti, Umberto Orsoni, Gianni Pareschi, Pino Pensotti, and Roberto Ubaldi—were dedicated to pushing the boundaries of traditional design. Their innovative approach resulted in a diverse range of strikingly modern designs that Busnelli International skillfully produced. Some of their standout pieces have been showcased in prestigious institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, highlighting their significance in contemporary design. When considering this sofa, please be aware that the fabric exhibits signs of wear and usage consistent with age. Given its condition, we strongly recommend reupholstering. The original thin plastic base is missing, but the sofa remains in good functional and structural condition. Investing in used mid-century design furniture is both a stylish choice and a sustainable one; it allows for repurposing high-quality pieces that have proven their durability over time. This practice helps to reduce waste and extends the lifecycle of furnishings, giving them a second, third, or even fourth life. Mid-century furniture is celebrated for its craftsmanship and enduring appeal, often featuring unique designs that tell a story. Each mark of wear on this sofa offers a glimpse into the lives of its previous owners, making it not just a piece of furniture but a treasured artifact with a rich history. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
