The Mirror of Venus by Edward Burne-Jones, circa late 20th century.
Edward Burne-Jones’s (English,1833-1898). The original painting is on display at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.
The painting showcases the mythological figures of Venus and her attendants gazing at their reflections through a pool of water. The painting is set on a Greek frieze landscape. Painted with spectacular colors and imagery. The canvas has an epoxy coating to further enhance the colors. Framed in a French manner with a gold finish.
