Brutalism; a style characterized by a stark aesthetic that emphasizes raw angular forms, sharp angles and raw materials.

This body of work not only references industrial aesthetic of brutalist architecture, but also the minimal furniture designs inspired by the movement. Sketched in coloured pencil and painted by hand using Gouache and Acrylic paints, the flat pigments of gouache contrast with the satin sheen of acrylic paints and the texture of raw paper. Colors in this piece include: tan, cobalt blue, azure blue, pink, black.

The tan-colored paper is 150g acid free, archival Canson paper. The artwork is initialed on the back.
