A fine & rare antique American Federal period Middle Tennessee Sheraton cherry sugar chest, circa 1820.
The chest is made from solid cheery with poplar secondary wood, the dovetailed top case with a locking hinged top with bread board ends, the interior with a divider. The upper case is raised on a stand with a single dovetailed drawer with the original bun shaped pulls, tall turned tapered legs with ring turnings and terminating to ball feet.
This sugar chest is is very good condition and is ready to grace your space.
Provenance; From a long established Middle Tennessee family, passing through seven generations of the family.
