Titled Room from Outside, it draws the eye with soft eggshell whites, warm greys, chalky browns and touches of buttermilk yellow. The surface reveals richly expressive brushstrokes and areas of impasto that lend depth and movement to the structured composition.

Painted in 1966 and signed by the artist to both the front and reverse, the work is offered in its original frame and remains in very good condition with no damage.

Artist Biography: Max Gregor Carlsson (1914–1996)
Max Gregor Carlsson was a Swedish modernist painter whose work reflects the dynamic post-war shift towards abstraction in Scandinavian art. He studied at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, one of Sweden’s most prestigious art schools, where he trained in traditional techniques before developing a more experimental approach.

Carlsson exhibited widely across Sweden during the 1950s–1970s, participating in group and solo exhibitions at institutions such as the Göteborgs Konsthall, Malmö Konstmuseum, and the Svenska Konstnärernas Förening (Swedish Artists’ Association). His work is held in public and private collections in Sweden, including the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and Kalmar Konstmuseum. This piece has an attribution mark,
